KARACHI: Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) on Thursday seized 80 kilograms of fine quality hashish from Super Highway.
On credible information from sources about smuggling of narcotics through Super Highway area of Sindh, an special mobile patrol was constituted for snap checking in the area. During search near PCG check post along Super Highway, PCG officials recovered approximately 80 kilograms of hashish from the hidden cavity which was fitted under the seat of the bus which was moving from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) to Karachi.
The hidden consignment of hashish was planned to be transported to Middle East. Huge amount of hashish along with bus driver and conductor were taken into custody.
Approximate value of seized item in international market is Rs 126 million. Further investigation and legal process was underway by the PCG’s special investigation team.
