PMA supports demands, opposes strike

KARACHI: Secretary General Pakistan Medical Association (Centre) Dr Mirza Ali Azhar on Thursday regretted in JPMC and NICH all doctors and paramedics observed strike.

He said doctors and the health workers are demanding health allowance which is equivalent to one month basic salary of the employees. He informed that this allowance is already notified by the Finance Division of Government of Pakistan, on 06th February 2012, through letter No. F.2(13)R-2/2011-777.

As far as this demand is concerned, he said PMA fully supports this justified demand. But at the same time PMA is does not support the doctors and paramedics going for strikes and adding more pain to the poor patients.

He demanded from the Government of Sindh to accept this genuine demand without delay and advised to health professionals to restrain from going to strikes.
