KARACHI: The position of the river inflows and outflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma along with the reservoirs levels and the barrages today is as under: Rivers: Indus at Tarbela-Inflows 14200 cusecs and Outflows 10000 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: Inflows 9600 cusecs and Outflows 9600 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla- Inflows 6800 cusecs and Outflows 8000 cusecs, Chenab at Marala- inflows 6200 cusecs and Outflows 6200 cusecs. Barrages: Jinnah-Inflows 24600 cusecs and Outflows 24300 cusecs, Chashma -Inflows 18800 cusecs and Outflows 16000 cusecs, Taunsa- Inflows 21900 cusecs and Outflows 21900 cusecs, Panjnad- Inflows 3400
cusecs and Outflows 3400 Guddu- Inflows 23300 cusecs and Outflows 8200 cusecs, Sukkur- Inflows 18600 cusecs and Outflows 18600 cusecs, Kotri- Inflows 9000 cusecs and Outflows Nil cusecs.
Reservoirs’ Level and Storage: Tarbela – dead level 1380 feet, present level 1471.44 feet, maximum level 1550 feet, live storage 2.473 million acre feet (MAF) Mangla – dead level 1040 feet, present level 1171.15 feet, maximum level 1242 feet, live storage 2.864 MAF, Chashma- dead level 637 feet, present level 638.50 feet, maximum level 649 feet, live storage 0.017 MAF.
The inflows and outflows of River Indus at Tarbela and Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera and River Jhelum at Mangla have been reflected as mean flows of 24 hours, whereas the other flows have been gauged at 6.00 am.
