Rangers apprehend 12 suspects in operation

KARACHI: Rangers in continuation of targeted operation in the city arrested 12 suspects linked to banned outfit in Ittehad Town area of Baldia Town here on Thursday.

The action was taken a day after a high level meeting headed by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif agreed to continue targeted operation against criminals in Karachi. Prime Minister had said that the provincial and federal governments were serious in their efforts to establish peace in Karachi.

Rangers personnel launched action against criminals in Muhammad Khan Colony, Ittehad Town, Karachi.

According to rangers spokesperson, paramilitary force rangers launched an operation on a tip-off regarding presence of terrorists belonging to banned outfits in the area. About 300 Rangers personnel took part in the search operation by blocking all the exit and entry points into the colony, and conducted house-to-house search and arrested 12 suspects belonging to the banned outfit along with different types of light and heavy weapons, he said.
