Rangers detains political party worker for 90 days

KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Monday produced a suspect said to be Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) worker before administrative judge of Anti-Terrorism Courts (ATC) and informed him about 90-day preventive detention of the suspect for interrogation.

The personnel of Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, along with their counsel, produced Kaleem before ATC administrative judge, Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto of Sindh High Court amid tight security. According to the Rangers, they had credible information of suspect’s involvement in target killing and other offences came within the ambit of Anti-Terrorism Act.

The Rangers law officer informed the court that he was picked up from New Karachi area.
