KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Commerce & Industry Abdul Rauf Siddiqui has vowed that boundary walls of all the industrial areas would be built for security of businessmen.
This he said while speaking at a dinner hosted by Chairman of Rajby Industries, Saleem Sultan and Chief Executive Officer of KITE Ltd, Masood Naqi, in honour of his and Chief Executive, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) SM Muneer on Sunday night
The minister further said that it was very important to include representatives of businessmen in government institutions due to which improvement would be seen.
SM Muneer said that inquiry would be conducted for the amount given for Export Development Funds in the past. “Investigation has been completed for the import of Vapour Heat Treatment (VHT) Plant to determine its actual value whereas we would not permit the auction of VHT Plant,” he added.
He said that it has revealed that misappropriation of funds was committed in import of VHT plant whereas they still have to pay its demurrage. “Export development fund is the amount of the businessmen kept by us,” he said
He said that it had been decided in the meeting of export development fund to investigate the amount paid in the last two to three years. He further said that they should work with honesty and passion and strengthen the policy of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif so that standard of living of people could be improved.
President Karachi Industrial Alliance Mian Zahid Hussain, Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan, Masood Naqi, Former Vice President FPCCI Khalid Tawab, Syed Johar Ali Qandhari, Mohammad Zubair Chhaya, Muneer Sultan, Gulzar Firoz and Noor Ahmed Khan were also present.
