Razi stuns favorite Indian Naresh Khatri in tennis tourney


Karachi: Razi Nawab, Senior Vice President of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) brushed aside top seed Naresh Khatri of India in the first round match of 55-plus singles in 24th Karachi Club Pakistan ITF Senior World Ranking Tennis Championship here on Tuesday at Karachi Club.

Razi recorded a convincing 6-2, 6-0 triumph to confirm his presence in the second round of the event.

Meanwhile, in 35-plus singles quarterfinal match, Khanzada Sher Ahmed overpowered Salman Maniya by 7-5, 6-3 score.

In 45-plus singles quarterfinals, Rashid Malik dispatched Javed Iqbal recording a straight-set 6-2, 6-4 victory while Raza Mirza trounced Noorullah Dhanani recording an immaculate 6-0, 6-0 victory.
