Rescue vehicle system in Karachi soon

KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has said that Rescue Vehicles System would be established during rains to provide immediate help to the vehicles stuck up in water.

Mechanics should be provided for rescue so that citizens could be given immediate relief, he said while addressing a meeting with focal persons of all the relevant organizations at his office to review preparations regarding monsoon. Coordination among the organizations was stressed in the meeting.

DIG traffic said that Rescue Vehicle System would not only be beneficial for the citizens but also for traffic police.

“The vehicles that stuck up in rainwater cause trouble to easy traffic flow as a result, people face inconvenience,” he said.

He said that traffic police had also made alternative routes. The commissioner said that the encroachments established on rainwater drains should not be issued lease or NOC, adding if they are issued, it would be cancelled and in the first phase, all the encroachments from drains should be removed.
