Rs1mn cheque for KPC


Karachi: Sindh Minister for information, archives and local government and Malir Development Authority, Sharjeel Inaam Memon said that their government had always took steps for the welfare of journalists and continue to do so in future.

He was addressing a ceremony of presenting a cheque of Rs 1 million from the Malir Development Authority to the Karachi Press Club (KPC). Karachi Press Club President Imtiaz Khan Faran received the cheque.

Memon said that the Sindh government had earlier given journalists residential plots and other facilities because it believed the journalists deserved these facilities.

He said that he on the occasion of free distribution of 200 residential plots to the journalists from Malir Development Authority had also promised to donate Rs 1 million, which he fulfilled now.

Imtiaz Khan Faran thanked the minister on behalf of the journalist fraternity for providing free residential plots and pecuniary support to the journalists.
