KARACHI: On the directives of Director General Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) Manzoor Qadir, demolition squads razed and sealed illegal constructions in different areas of the city on Thursday.
According to details, a demolition squad, in accordance with the orders by court, demolished illegal construction of shops on the fourth floor of an old building at plot no. 31/5, sheet no. P.R.2, Preedy Quarters and partition walls on the fifth and sixth floor plot, 28.R.C-1, Ranchor Lane.
In the same area pre-cast constructions on the fifth floor of plot 73.GK.K-7, Qasim Quarters was razed. Shuttering for construction of illegal fifth floor at plot 3.R.S-4 was removed. A structure consisting of ground and first floor of a plot next to Railway Line Mai Kolachi was also demolished.
Meanwhile, 1st RCC floor of plot no. 27/8.L.R-9 and 6th RCC floor of plot ½.A, L.R-6 in Lawrence Quarters and illegal construction of shops on plot 53, GR in Garden East were sealed.
Apart from this, shuttering for the construction of roof and RCC columns on 6th floor at plot 705, Fatima Jinnah Colony was razed, while, RCC floor with walls, columns, beam on fourth floor of illegal china cutting plots under scheme 24 at R-38, 39 & R-49, Block 10, Gulshan-e-Iqbal were razed. The RCC floor with walls of ground floor of Scheme 24, block 6, plot B-363 and shuttering fixed to illegally constructed 8th floor at comm. 11 & 12, block pro-H, Scheme 4, 16-A Kaneez Fatima Society were demolished.
The illegal construction of a private school at plot D-81& 82, Block 8, Scheme was sealed. Special squads also raided in other areas of the city and took action on violation of SBCA rules. The demolition was carried out under the supervision of deputy and assistant building directors and demolition officers, while, SBCA Police force was present to control the law and order situation.
