KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Tuesday issued notice to Sindh chief secretary, home secretary and IGP Sindh among other official respondents on a petition of father of slain Suleman Lashari, an 18-year student allegedly killed by SSP’s son and his guards, seeking to be put under police protection.
The petitioner, Ghulam Mustafa Lashari filed a petition submitting that despite court orders and repeated requests, the official respondents did not provide him and his family with sufficient security.
He told the judges that he was continuously receiving threats from Ghulam Sarwar Abro, SSP of Police Training Centre, Sakrand, father of prime suspect Salman Abro. Therefore, he said, his life was in danger and needed immediate security. The petitioner pleaded the court to issue directions for the authorities concerned to provide the adequate security.
After initial hearing, a division bench of SHC headed by Justice Sajjad Ali Shah issued notice to the respondents to submit their comments on petition by February 20.
