KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday issued notice to chief secretary Sindh, home secretary, provincial police chief and other official respondents to file comments on a petition seeking suspension of Sakrand Police Training Centre SSP Ghulam Sarwar Abro, father of prime accused in murder case of O’ Levels student Suleman Lashari.
Suleman was gunned down at his house in Defence Housing Authority on May 8. He was allegedly killed by the main accused in the case, Salman Abro, who is the son of a senior superintendent of police.
Father of deceased Sardar Ghulam Mustafa Lashari approached the court, pleading it to order suspension of SSP as he was influencing the course of investigation in the murder case.
The petitioner, represented by advocate Muhammad Khan Buriro and Mubashir Ahmed Mirza, said that his son was killed by SSP’s son, Salman Abro, who broke into his house along with his police guards and killed his son with official weapons.
He alleged that his son was targeted at the stance of SSP and expressed serious apprehension that fair trial of the accused persons could not be conducted if he is not put under suspension.
After hearing preliminary arguments, the bench headed by Sajjad Ali Shah issued notice to respondents and prosecutor general Sindh. It adjourned the hearing of case till tomorrow.
