KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday directed home secretary Sindh, director general Rangers, IG Sindh and provincial police chief and others to reply to a petition seeking whereabouts of a missing man allegedly detained by paramilitary forces.
The petitioner, Musarrat Ameen submitted that Rangers personnel picked up her spouse, Muhammad Ammenul Haq, 40-year from house at Ghousia Centre, Marston Road Jubilee on May 30 and since then his whereabouts were unknown to his family.
She said that she approached police station concerned and Rangers officials to know whereabouts of her husband but they did not divulge any information. Area police were neither registering a case about his missing husband nor making any effort to trace out him, she added.
The petitioner requested the court to order law enforcement agencies to recover and produce her husband before the court.
