SHO killed, 2 including doctor injured in armed attacks

KARACHI: Preedy Police Station’s SHO was killed by unidentified armed men in Defence Housing Authority, while two persons including a lady doctor were injured in different incidents, here on Thursday.

Police said four unknown gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire on Preedy Police Station’s SHO Khuwaja Ajaz Ali’s car on Korangi Road near Defence Morr when he was on his way to office from home near Akhter Colony. He suffered serious bullet injuries. He succumbed to his injuries on his way to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Hospital (JPMC).

IGP Sindh Ghulam Qadir Thebo expressed concern over Khwaja’s murder and termed it a great loss. “The killers will not be spared,” he told media.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah also took notice of the incident and directed police to furnish a report on the incident.

In a separate incident, Dr. Mrs Deborah Lobo, Vice Principle of Jinnah Medical and Dental College, was shot and injured when unknown gunmen who attacked on her car on Shaheed Millat Road. She was critically injured and shifted to a private hospital. Dr Lobo is an American national and serving in a local private medical college for last 15 years.

An unidentified man, aged about 35, was injured by the bullets of unknown armed person near in Godam Chowrangi, Korangi. He was rushed to a private hospital for treatment.
