Sindh Assembly adjourned on demise of Altaf Unnar


Karachi: The session of Sindh assembly on Friday was adjourned to Monday without taking any business on agenda to pay respect to deceased Altaf Unnar, ex-MPA Sindh. The house met one hour and 25 minutes late than its schedule with speaker Agha Siraj Durrani in chair.

The sitting was chaired by Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani. The chair announced the names of Panel of Four Chairmen, which included Murad Ali Shah, Sohrab Khan Sarki, Dr Sagheer Ahmed and Mahtab Akbar Rashdi.

Forty-eight members took part in dua, which consumed 35 minutes. Most of the members prayed the chair for dua for the victims of Thar famine, death of MPA, Altaf Hussain Unnar & extrajudicial killings and missing of MQM workers. Prayers were also made for the victory of Pakistan in today’s Pak-India cricekt match in World T20.

No further business could be taken in the house. Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Sikandar Mandhro moved a motion, requesting the chair to adjourn the sitting till Monday on the sad demise of MPA Altaf Hussain Unnar and the business of today will be taken on Monday.

The house approved the motion and the chair adjourned the sitting till Monday at 10:00 AM.
