Sindh conducive for foreign investment: Shaikh


KARACHI: Sindh Solid Waste Management Boards’ Managing Director Roshan Ali Shaikh said on Tuesday that Sindh specially Karachi is the main platform for investors, adding the government is not only encouraging the foreign investors but also providing all kinds of facilities to them.

He said this while meeting with delegation of Chinese investors at his office.

Chinese investors, Sindh Solid Waste Management Board’s Executive Director AD Sajnani, Dr Jabbar Shaikh, Secretary Board Dr Nusrat Ali Panhwar, Secretary Local Government Board Syed Salahuddin Ahmed, Director Media Management Mohammad Shabeeh Siddiqui, Assistant Director Operation Karachi Javed Rehman Kalhwar, Saeed Keerio were present.

AD Sajnani, while giving briefing to participants, said the government is trying its best regarding managing solid waste. In this regard Sindh Solid Waste Management Board has made plans to collect and dispose garbage on scientific methods.

Roshan Ali Shaikh said that the responsibility of collecting garbage and maintaining cleanliness in other cities of Sindh will be managed in phases.

He said as Sindh Chief Minister, Chief Secretary and Local Government Minister are taking their personal interest in solid waste plans.

He said that the Chinese investors have showed interest to invest for creating gas from the dung of buffaloes, and generating electricity from garbage.
