Sindh Police to get blood bank


KARACHI: The IGP Sindh, Iqbal Mahmood, paid a surprise visit to Police Hospital and issued necessary instructions on the spot.

He directed to move proposal with regard to establishment of a Blood Bank and well equipped Trauma Centre in the hospital, as soon as possible. He also instructed to move summary for specialists/consultants immediately for their posting in Police Hospital.

The Medical Superintendent, Police Hospital Karachi Dr Muhammad Yunis Chachar, while giving away briefing about the functioning and problems informed that there were 41 doctors and 121 Para-medics providing treatment and preventive services.

He disclosed that daily OPD has been increased from 150 to 350 patients. “Police Hospital Karachi is a 62 bedded hospital extending medical facilities like Gynaecological, paediatrics, Eye, Family Planning, Dental, Routine immunization, Ultrasound, X-Ray and clinical laboratory”, he added.

IGP directed to ensure availability of all the essential medicines, and to make arrangements for providing re-agents of chemistry analyzer, Haematology Analyzer etc for the clinical laboratory.

He also invited details about hepatitis vaccination plan for the police personnel and directed to submit a report in this regard. He also asked DIGP Finance to expedite the summary for sanctioning of the posts of Medical Specialist in the hospital, at the earliest.
