Six Karachiites killed road accident near Sehwan

KARACHI: Six people were killed and six others injured when a speeding dumper-truck rammed into a passenger coach on Indus Highway near Sehwan Sharif on Sunday.

Edhi rescue sources said that a passenger coach en route from Karachi to Sehwan collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction on Indus Highway near Laky Shah Saddar in Jamshoro District, leaving six persons, including four children Afshan, 8, Arsalan, 8, Sufiyan, 10, Hina, 5, woman Yamima, 35 and one unknown dead while six other sustained injuries.

Police and rescue teams rushed to the scene soon after receiving information and conducted rescue operation. They shifted deceased and injured to Taluka Hospital Sehwan. The traffic remained suspended for hours on the main highway due to tragic accident.

The victims belonged to Surjani Town area of Karachi and were on their way to Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s shrine for pilgrimage.
