Sports: Cricket: Mohammad Akram appointed as NCA head coach


Karachi: Pakistan cricket team’s bowling coach Mohammad Akram has been made head coach of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore. “The decision was made by PCB management in consultation with Mohammad Akram in order to strengthen grass roots cricket through additional training camps and procedures for upcoming youngsters. Mohammad Akram brings with him international experience which will help strengthen the NCA systems,” PCB media release said.

Mohammad Akram will also work as a member of the National Selection Committee and in future, if required, may also tour with Pakistan teams as bowling coach.

“His transfer is part of the restructuring plans of coaches and support staff currently underway with a view to optimize the resources at hand,” The release added.
