Sports: Cricket: Pak Mujahid clinches Sharif Khan Memorial Cricket tourney title

Karachi: Pak Mujahid Cricket Club clinched the title of the inaugural Sharif Khan Memorial T-20 Cricket Tournament after defeating Quaidabad Cricket Club by three wickets in the final played at Al-Hadeed Gymkhana Ground in Steel Town.

Quaidabad CC batted first in the climax, and put on board a competitive total of 167-10 in 20 overs. Daniyal Ali (35) and Muhammad Asad (32) top scored for the side.

Pak Mujahid CC in turn reached the target with three wickets in hand in 19.4 overs. Muhammad Shafqat batted well for the side and scored 65 off 46 balls. Noor Muhammad (35) and Nabeel Ahmed (30) also batted well for the victors in the match.

The tournament was organized in memory of late Muhammad Sharif Khan the, elder brother of Test cricketer and former Pakistan skipper Younis Khan. Sharif, aged 40, died in a car accident in 2005 in Ukraine.

Younis Khan was the chief guest during the closing ceremony of the tournament.
