Sports: Cricket: Pakistan CC enters T20 Cricket Tourney quarters


Karachi: Shaharyar Ghani and Fazal Subhan both registered half centuries to help Pakistan Cricket Club beat Royal Cricket Club comprehensively by 112 runs and confirm their place in quarterfinals of All Karachi Muhammad Zamir Khan Memorial Cricket Tournament here at Hill Park Ground.

Pakistan CC batted first in the match and put on board 195-6 in allotted 20 overs. Fazal Subhan (64 runs) and Shaharyar Ghani (60 runs) batted impressively for the side. Sajjad Ali took three wickets for Royal CC.

In their turn, Royal CC was restricted to a paltry total of 83 runs in 13.5 overs. Waseem Ahmed top scored for the side with 19 runs. Junaid Ilyas captured a four-wicket haul while Fawad Khan took three wickets for the victors in the match.

In another match of tournament Rangers Cricket Club overpowered Pak Gymkhana by six wickets here at Hill Park Ground. Muhammad Akbar played pivotal role in Rangers CC victory playing an unbeaten knock of 58 runs.
