Sports: Cricket: Pakistan records third win in Veterans World Cup
Karachi:Pakistan has won its third consecutive match against South Africa by a huge margin of 145 runs in Veterans World Cup at the Jubilee Oval, Ground in Sydney.
The inaugural over 50’s Veterans World Cup is being played in Sydney by eight countries.
According to information made available here, South Africa won the toss and put Pakistan Veterans into bat first. Pakistan Veterans posted a handsome total of 274 runs for loss of five wickets in the allotted 45 overs.
Opener Ghaffar Kazmi again excelled with the bat and played a brilliant inning of unbeaten 100runs. His innings included 10 fours. Dastagir Butt scored 71 runs and former ODI player Sajid Ali scored 53 runs. For the South Africans, B. Coker took three wickets for 60 runs.
Batting second South African Veterans team could only score 129 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 45 overs.
K. Jackson was the top scorer for South African team scoring 38 runs. Javed Hafeez took two wickets.
Vice Captain Ghaffar Kazmi for his excellent hundred was given Man of the Match award.
In other matches, Sri Lanka beat Wales by two wickets, Australia beat England by seven wickets and New Zealand beat Canada by 14 runs.
