Karachi:,,, As the FIFA Football World Cup is in full swing in Brazil, Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) is attempting to induce the viral soccer fever to the local female footballers here by organizing sixth edition of National Inter Club Women Football Championship 2014 from June 21 to 28 at Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.
Sixteen women football teams are participating in the tournament. Group A (Lahore 1) consists of Lahore Fighter Women FC, Shaheen Women FC and FATA Women FC.
Group A (Lahore 2) also have three teams namely Model Town Women FC, Frontier College Women FC and CJM Soccer Club.
Group B (Karachi 1) will see Diya Women FC, Karachi Women FC, Women Star FC and Winning Stars Women FC fighting for supremacy in the group.
Group C (Karachi 2) will have Balochistan United Women FC, Young Rising Women FC and Vehari United in its fold.
Meanwhile, Group D (Islamabad) has Young Rising Star Women FC, Margalla Women FC and Soccer Queens Women FC in the pool.
In Lahore Zone, after group stage league matches, two top teams each from Group will qualify for zonal level semifinals. Winners of semifinals will qualify to play final round.
Meanwhile, in Group B after group stage league matches, top ranking team will qualify to play final round. Likewise top team of Group C will also qualify for the final round. Group D will also have the same criteria for qualification in the final round of its top team.
