Karachi: Thirteen universities and institutes will battle for top honours in 12th AKU Inter-University Football Tournament, which begins Friday at the AKU Football Ground.
The thirteen teams have been divided in four pools and the tournament round matches will be played on league basis and progress through group stages to quarters, semis and the summit clash.
The tournament was earlier scheduled to begin from May 15 but has been postponed by a day due to unavoidable reasons.
Pool A: Bahria University (BU), Liaquat College of Medicine & Dentistry (LCMD) and host Aga Khan University (AKU).
Pool B: Hamdard University (HU), Institute of Business & Technology (IBT) and Institute of Business Management (IoBM).
Pool C: Ziauddin University (ZU), Karachi Medical & Dental College (KMDC), Jinnah Medical & Dental College (JMDC) and Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science & Technology (SZABIST).
Pool D: Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Khadim Ali Shah Bukhari Institute of Technology (KASBIT) and Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET).
