Sports: Hockey: PHF conducts Talent Hunt trials in Quetta


Karachi: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Tuesday conducted trials to select talented players from Balochistan in Quetta.

The trials were conducted by PHF National Selection Committee, comprising of former Olympians Islahuddin Siddiqui (Chairman), Arshad Ali Chawdhry, Olympian Ayaz Mahmood, Olympian Khalid Bashir, Olympian Musaddiq Hussain (Members).

Former Olympian Shahnaz Sheikh, who is manager and chief coach of Pakistan national team, also observed the trials.

Ninety boys turned up to appear in the trials. Islah told media on the occasion that player will be selected on the basis of merit and no discrimination would be observed no matter where players belong from.

The selection committee will now move to Sindh where they will conduct trials here at Hockey Club of Pakistan Stadium on April 24 and 25.
