Karachi: Cash strapped Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) will discuss the course of action against Hockey India (HI), who manipulated FIH to ban Pakistan players few hours before the final of Hockey Champions Trophy held in India.
The 51st Annual Congress of the federation will be held at the National Hockey Stadium in Lahore today (Tuesday) and the top agenda of the meeting would be the discussion of the course of action.
Sources in the federation told PPI that PHF top brass along with the nation were disgusted after International Hockey Federation (FIH) banned two Pakistan players Mohammad Tauseeq and Amjad Hussain for one match only few hours before the final of Hockey Champions Trophy.
“FIH came under the pressure of Hockey India and change their initial decision of accepting apology from Pakistan without any consequence. Now we will plan how to protest officially against the unfair decision,” he added.
Cash rich Hockey India objected furiously to Pakistan’s semifinal victory celebrations after the hosts were humiliated at their own backyard. Hockey India threatened to wrap up future holding of FIH events on Indian soil if FIH don’t come hard on Pakistan. Then came the suspension of two of green-shirts. The one-match ban on the duo just before the all-important summit clash did the damage, as Pakistan lost the final to Germany.
