Karachi: Punjab (C), Railways and WAPDA won their respective matches in 33rd National Junior Championship here Thursday at the Hockey Club of Pakistan Stadium.
In the opening match of the day, Punjab (C) found little resistance from Islamabad and recorded a convincing 4-0 triumph. Mohsin Sabir and Sohail Anjum both braced for the victors in the match.
In the second match, Railways recovered from a goal down to beat Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa 2-1. Samiullah gave early lead to KPK when he scored in the 6th minute of the match, but Ahmed Nadeem and Nabeel Akram scored one goal each for Railways to record 2-1 triumph.
In the last match of the day, WAPDA overpowered Sindh Whites by 3-1 score. Bilal Ahmed, Ali Bahadur and Mohammed Naveed scored one goal each for WAPDA. Mohammad Jamshed scored a consolatory goal for Sindh.
