Karachi: Former captain of national kabaddi team Tajammal Bajwa died in an unfortunate traffic accident near Gojra on Thursday.
Tajammal, who was in his late 20s, has led national kabaddi team in Asian Games in the past. He also featured in Indo-Pak Punjab Games in March 2014 and beach kabaddi tournament as a stopper. Tajammal, who hails from Faisalabad, was also part of national training camp for Kabaddi World Cup but could not accompany the national team due to a shoulder injury.
National kabaddi captain Shafiq Ahmed Chishti, head coach Ghulam Abbas Butt, assistant coach Umer Hayat, General Secretary of Pakistan Circle Kabaddi Federation Sarwar Butt, team manager Waqas Akbar and a large number of kabaddi players and fans have also expressed their heartfelt grief on sad demise of Tajammal Bajwa.
