Karachi: Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) on Thursday announced that it has been waiting for the Indian visas for its players, who will be participating in 15th Asian U-21 Snooker Championship 2014, which will run from April 4 to 10 in Mohali (India).
The team is scheduled to leave for Mohali on April 2. The visa applications of the Pakistan snooker team have been submitted to the High Commission of India March 12. PBSA is waiting issuance of the necessary visas.
Pakistan junior snooker team is comprised of Muhammad Majid Ali, Muhammad Haris Nadeem, Hamza Akbar and Amir Tariq.
PBSA has also forwarded all the required documents to the Pakistan Sports Board for issuance of the Government NOC from the Ministry of IPC/Ministry of Interior & Foreign office. All preparations regarding the tournament have been finalized.
PBSA is waiting for the necessary visas to be issued from the Indian High Commission and NOC from the Government for its cueists.
Meanwhile, training and practice camp for the event has started on Thursday at the PSB Snooker Hall in Islamabad. The camp is scheduled to conclude on March 30.
Muhammad Yousuf, former World and Asian Champion, has been appointed as official coach and camp commandant and will also accompany the junior team to Chandigarh.
