KARACHI: An Accountability Court on Saturday handed over Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) deputy managing director Shoaib Warsi and former managing director Zuhair Siddiqui to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on 14-day remand for their alleged involvement in embezzlement.
Earlier, both the suspects were interrogated by the Rangers for the period of three months under section 11EEEE (1) of Anti-Terrorism Act for their alleged involvement in financing the terrorism, corruption and excess of powers. Rangers on Thursday handed over the both accused to NAB after the expiry of 90 days preventive detention.
The investigation officer of NAB produced the suspects before an accountability court and requested to grant their remand as they are required for investigation. The court accepted the NAB’s request and remanded SSGC official to their custody for 14 days.
