SSUET convocation: President asks students to concentrate on country progress


KARACHI: President Mamnoon Hussain on Thursday urged students to get fully prepared and play their due role for bringing reforms in the society and develop the country as per the visions and dreams of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

This he said while addressing the 17th convocation of Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) at Expo Centre, Karachi.

Congratulating students who received their degrees, he said that this convocation was a milestone in their life as after that they would enter practical life. “Now you have a lot of responsibilities on your shoulders, so your concentration should be on the progress and prosperity of the country and nation,” he advised.

He highlighted the importance of training and urged faculty members of the university to pay full attention toward grooming students and developing education. He noted that nowadays importance is not being given to training.

The President said that faculty is the most imported part of any educational institute, so there should be some institutes for teachers training too. Chancellor ZA Nizami and Vice Chancellor Dr Nazir Ahmad also spoke.
