KARACHI: Anti-Terrorism Court-II (ATC-II) on Tuesday remanded a suspect to police custody for two weeks in a cop murder case. ATC-II judge granted remand of suspect for two weeks and directed the police to produce suspect on next hearing. Police produced the suspect, Arif Khan, before ATC-II judge amid security.
According to the police, the accused was allegedly involved in murder of police constable Mohammad Khan and constable Abdul Raheem in Saeedabad on 5th January 2014.
Police claimed two rifles were recovered from his possession.
He was arrested during a police encounter in Saeedabad and his three accomplices, Gull Daraz, Sanaullah and Amanullah were absconders.
A case (FIR 06/2014) was registered at the Madani colony police station under Sections 302 (premeditated murder), 324 (attempt murder), 353, 392, 384 and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section-7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
