Suspect remanded to police in explosive material case

KARACHI: Anti-Terrorism Court-II (ATC-II) on Tuesday remanded an activist of a banned outfit to police custody for a week in a case pertaining to the possession of explosive material and illegal weapons.

The accused, Inayatullah alias Raeesani, was produced before the court amid tight security. The investigation officer requested the court for more time to conduct further interrogations.

According to the prosecution, accused was arrested during a raid conducted by police in Lee Market on7 April 2014. He was subsequently booked in several cases pertaining to the possession of illegal arms and explosive material.

One hand grenade and some illegal weapons were also recovered from his possession.

A case was registered against the suspects under Sections and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code, Section 4/5 of the Explosive Substance Act at the Lee Market police station.
