KARACHI: South Zone police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested 73 accused in separate actions in the city’s different areas and recovered gambling equipments, arms, looted property, and drugs from their possession.
On the directives of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Dr Jamil Ahmed, the teams of Kharadar, Mithadar, Garden, Kalakot, Saddar, Nabi Bux, Civil Lines, Clifton, Darkhshan, Mauripur, and Mochko Police Stations apprehended 14 alleged criminals belonging to dacoit groups. They were identified as Ali Baba, Arshad, Amir, Bilal, Abdullah Ahmed, Daniyal, Saeed Mohammad, Obaid, Mohammad Asif, Zahoor Baloch, Zeeshan, Mohammad Bilal, Ghulam Akber, and Maqsood. The police also recovered 14 pistols, 14 magazines, several cartridges, looted property, and a snatched motorcycle from their possession.
In another action, Defence, Saddar, Baloch Colony and Artillery Maidan police teams arrested four alleged criminals involved in drug peddling cases. They also recovered a large quantity of hashish and wine bottles from their possession.
Kharadar police detained three gamblers and recovered stake money from their possession. However, all Police Stations of South Zone arrested 45 suspects involved in heinous crimes
