Target killer’s remand extended in illicit weapons’ case

KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday extended the physical remand of Mohammad Safdar alias Don, alleged target killer of a political party, in police’s custody in a case pertaining to illicit weapons.

The suspect was arrested by Counter Terrorism Department which detained him for 30 over his alleged involvement in offences that comes within the ambit of Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.

According to the police, Don had confessed during the investigation that he is the part of a political party’s target killers team. While scaring from the raids of the law enforcers, the suspect had hide the weapons that they used in target killings.

“On the identification of Don, weapons were recovered which include G3s, 7MM pistols and bullets from Ausaf Building Korangi on 29th March.

The investigation officer requested the court extend the accused remand in police’s custody as he is further required for interrogation. While accepting IO’s request the judge extended Don physical remand in police custody till 11th April.

According to police, the suspect was also involved in the murder case registered at Zaman Town police station in 2010.
