Third Annual Learning Conference on Wednesday

KARACHI: The Pakistan Society for Training and Development will be hosting its third Annual Learning Conference on Wednesday 20th May, 2015 at the Movenpick Hotel Karachi. The theme of the conference is ‘Building a Sustainable Learning Culture'; the objective is to highlight the importance of learning and development on a personal level as part of organizational strategy. Various industry leaders along with Organizational Development professionals, trainers and consultants will be present at the conference to provide their valuable experience and knowledge, and to create a platform to connect.

The keynote speaker of this year will be Faisal Farooq Khan, the Group HR Head of Bank Alfalah. case study of Getz Pharma, various panel discussions and sessions on preparing Learning Strategy and behavior based profiling by UK based firm (Thomas) are also on the agenda. Topics such as instructional design and performance management among others will be tackled by training professionals. The conference will also include a debate on training effectiveness.

Commenting on the Annual Learning Conference, PSTD Board Member Ali Shirazi said, ‘It is a known fact that learning, talent development, its retention and building leadership capacity is of key importance to any organization that aims to deliver sustainable competitive advantage. At PSTD we understand the importance of aligning training with organizational strategy and through this conference we hope to create a platform for building an organizational social strategy.’

PSTD is an independent, non-profit and non-government institution, managed by a Board of Governors comprising Senior Executives and Human Resource Professionals from leading organizations in Pakistan. The Society was founded on May 21st, 1966 and over the past 47 years has organized numerous trainings and speakers sessions actively encouraging national and multinational organizations to share and enhance their professional expertise from the society’s platform.
