Three alleged criminals killed, two injured in police encounter


KARACHI: Three alleged criminals were killed and two others injured in separate police encounters in metropolis on Tuesday.

A police party raided Chakra Goth in Korangi on information about the presence of the most wanted criminals. During raid, criminals opened fire on the police party, while police also exchanged the fire in which three of them were killed.

The killed suspects were identified as Saleem, 30, son of Ameer; Abdul Shakoor, 35, son of Mohammad Umer; and Ali Ahmed, 30, son of Mohammad Imtiaz. According to police, the suspects were involved in various cases of crimes including extortion and kidnapping. Police also claimed to have recovered weapons from their possession.

The bodies were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for autopsies. Police also recovered weapons from their possession.

In another encounter, alleged criminals were looting citizens near Water Park Ground in Brigade area when a police party reached there. Seeing police, criminals opened fire. The police also retaliated the fire in which two alleged criminals were injured.

They were identified as Rizwan, 30; and Qaisar, 30, son of Fareed. Police claimed to have recovered weapons and a motorcycle from their possession. They were shifted to JPMC for treatment.
