KARACHI: Anti-Terrorism Court-I (ATC-I) on Wednesday remanded three alleged land mafia men to police custody for a week in police encounter case.
Police produced three accused, Wahid Bux, Mohammad Ashraf and Mohammad Ishaq before link Judge of ATC-I amid security. The investigation officer requested the court for more time to conduct further interrogations. I O also directed to treatment of accused at hospital and submit report.
According to the Police, all the three accused were arrested during an encounter in Gulistan-e-Jauhar on 25 March 2014, when an encroachment team reached at Gulistan-e-Jauhar to demolish the occupied land illegally they had opened fire on them, which was returned by the police.
Police also claimed to have seized illegal weapons and other items from those arrested.
A case (FIR 182/2014) was registered at the Gulistan-e-Jauhar police station under Sections 353, 324 (attempt murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section-7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
