KARACHI: Police on Sunday claimed to have killed three alleged terrorists of a banned outfit during in an encounter in Sohrab Goth area of the city. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir Rao Anwar said that on a tip-off police conducted a search operation in Afghan Basti near Sohrab Goth in the wee hours of Sunday.
Police said that accused opened fire on police, and in retaliatory firing, three alleged outlaws were killed and arms recovered from their possession. Five foreigners were also arrested during the search operation, police said.
The bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. Further investigation was under way.
