Training of communication staff concluded


KARACHI: The Sindh chapter of the Pakistan Red Crescent (PRC) in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) organized national level “Refresher Training for Communication staff & volunteers” at local hotel.

The training continued for three days in which implementation of standard operating procedures in peace time & disaster situation reported and prepared the visibility plan for district branch.

The Training was attended by 35 participants from Karachi, Peshawar, Muzaffarabad, Quetta, FATA, Gilgit Baltistan, Thatta, Badin, Dadu, Hyderabad, Shikarpur, Khairpur, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Sanghar, Mithi, Jamshoro and Jacobabad districts.

PRCS Sindh Media & Communication Officer Mohammad Aftab Madni conducted the training and described the role of communication volunteers and district branch staff in image building of Red Crescent.

In the closing ceremony, Pakistan Red Crescent Society Sindh’s Vice Chairman Raffique Ahmed Jaffery said that the purpose of this training was to train the district volunteers and staff members to provide Red Cross Red Crescent Movement dissemination sessions with effective communication & presentation techniques to different communities living in their districts that will enhance the image building of PRCS and its acceptance in communities.

PRCS-Sindh Provincial Secretary Kanwar Waseem said that the Red Cross Red Crescent movement had become synonymous with serving humanity and for accomplishing this mission he also admired the role of PRCS Media & Communication Department.

PIO PRC-NHQ Khalid Bin Majeed congratulated the media & communication Department for regular implementation of the standard operating procedures in peace time & disaster situation at district level.

PRCS Sindh Branch forth time organized this type of workshop for communication staff and volunteers with the support of training institute of Red Crescent. Dr Rizwana Wasif Training Coordinator conducted examination and evaluate the participants.

In closing, the certificates and gifts were also given to the participants.
