Turkish Navy ship arrives on a goodwill visit to Pakistan

KARACHI: Turkish Navy Ship TCG GEDIZ has arrived on a goodwill visit at Karachi Port here on Wednesday. The visiting ship was accorded a warm welcome and received by Turkish Consul General in Pakistan and senior officials of Pakistan Navy.

Visit of Vice Admiral Hasan Sukru KORLU, Commander Turkish Northern Sea Area, is also planned concurrent to ship’s visit. The Dignitary, during his visit, will meet senior Naval officials/field commanders at Karachi and will also visit Pakistan and Turkish Navy ships.

During the stay of Turkish Navy ship, various training activities and discussions on maritime security/awareness are planned. Friendly sports matches and visits of Turkish Naval personnel to Pakistan Navy establishments will also be undertaken. At the end of the visit, the Turkish ship will conduct passage exercise with Pakistan Navy fleet units.

Pakistan Navy and Turkish Navy enjoy historic, brotherly relations and frequently interact with each other in the fields of Joint Exercises, Port calls, Training etc. The current visit of Turkish ship and Turkish Naval Commander will further enhance defence ties and maritime collaboration between the two countries in general and navies in particular.
