Two more cases against Sheerazis proved false: SHC told

KARACHI: Two more cases lodged against the supporters of Sheerazi family of Thatta were found to be false and fabricated, said an investigation report conducted by AIG Research Bashir Memon.

The AIG Research, after investigating the cases registered against the supporters of Sherazi family by Thatta police and city administration, submitted his report at division bench of SHC headed by Justice Ahmed Ali M Shiekh.

The bench was seized with the hearing of a petition filed by Nabi Baksh and Mumtaz Ali Magsi, seeking quashment of the cases against them allegedly lodged on the basis of political vendetta.

The petitioners said that they were affiliated with Sheerazi group, therefore, they were being subjected to political victimization by police and city administration of Thatta.

Since they refused to switch the loyalties, false and fabricated cases were lodged against them at the instance of leaders of ruling party, they added.

The petitioners said that on the directives of court, AIG Bashir Memon invested the allegations against supporters of Sheerazi family and filed a report, pointing out that out of the 108 criminal cases and anti-corruption inquires, 40 were false and fabricated, while in 22 cases the facts were exaggerated and innocent people implicated.
