KARACHI: Two ranger personnel were killed and one other injured on Tuesday morning during an encounter with terrorists in Landhi, Karachi.
Two rangers personnel identified as Ameer Hassan and Rukhsar were killed while another ranger man was injured during an encounter with alleged activists of banned outfit.
The rangers conducted raid in Landhi after receiving intelligence about the presence of activists of a banned outfit. The militants opened the firing and lobbed hand grenades at the rangers and injuring two personnel. Ameer Hassan and Rukhsar succumbed to injuries during treatment.
Soon after the incident, more contingents of Rangers and police reached the spot and sealed all exit and entry points to nab the culprits. At least three suspects belonging to a banned organization were arrested during the search operation. The Rangers also claimed to have recovered hand grenades and other weapons from their possession.
