KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC)) remanded two accused, Ubaid alias K2 and Nadir Shah, to police custody till 9 April 2015 in two cops’ murder case.
Police produced the accused before the ATC judge under tight security. They informed the court that suspects were already on physical remand in illicit weapons possession and explosives material cases.
The police claimed that during investigation suspects had confessed to killing policemen Mohammad Rehan and Mohammad Nisar.
The investigation officer DSP Raheem Shah requested the court to grant the remand of both the accused in the murder case of Sub-inspectors Mohammad Rehan and Sub-inspector Mohammad Nisar. The court accepted police request and granted the remand of the accused till 9 April. It also issued show-cause notice to IO to explain why he had failed to submit the class A report.
According to the prosecution, Sub-inspector Mohammad Rehan and Sub-inspector Mohammad Nisar were killed on 23 March 2000 when unknown armed men targeted them near Soldier Bazaar.
Ubaid K2 and Nadir Shah were among the suspects arrested by rangers from MQM headquarter Nine-Zero on 11 March 2015.
