KARACHI: Six people, including a Sub-Inspector, were killed and three others injured in different firing incidents in the city on Monday.
A Sub-Inspector, Muhammad Saleem, 35, son of Muhammad Yaseen, was shot dead when unknown armed bike riders opened fire on him soon after he left his home at Bilal Colony in Korangi. The body of the police officer was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.
In another incident of firing, a 40-year-old man, Ahmed Ali Zaidi, son of Abid Ali Zaidi, was killed and another Faisal Hanif, injured when unidentified armed men open fire on them at Liaquatabad flyover. The body and the injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH).
Amir, 22, son of Arif, was shot and injured at Aath Chowk within the limits of Kala Kot police station in Lyari. The injured was rushed to Civil Hospital Karachi, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Separately, a man was found dead at Jumma Goth in Korangi. The body was shifted to JPMC for an autopsy. The identity of the victim could not be ascertained yet.
Imtiaz, 35, son of Zulfiqar, was shot dead by unknown armed men in Gulbahar within the limits of Rizvia police station. The body was shifted to ASH for medico-legal formalities.
A 60-year-old man, Sajid Ali Jaffri, was killed by unknown armed men at Bhangoria Goth within the limits of Azizabad police station. The body was shifted to ASH for postmortem examination.
A policeman, Syed Riaz, 40, son of Muhammad Jaffar, was shot and injured by unknown armed men at Hassan Square. The injured was rushed to JPMC for treatment.
Muhammad Riaz, 30, Jabir Ali, was shot and injured by stray bullet at Sakhi Hassan in North Nazimabad. The injured was rushed to ASH for treatment.
