Vast investment opportunities present in Azad Kashmir: Sardar Yaqoob


Karachi: Vast investment opportunities are present in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and our traders and industrialists should come forward to avail them, said AJK President Sardar Mohammad Yaqoob Khan talking to a delegation of Pak China Club that called on him.

The delegation led by Pak China Club Patron in Chief Mehtab Uddin Chawla and President Javed Asghar Arain comprised chief adviser of the club Huang Junqiang, secretary general Khalid Iqbal Khan, ladies wing incharge Prof Dr Shahida Wizarat, Adil Aziz, Afaf Arain, Rais Khan and others.

AJK President Sardar Yaqoob told the delegation that local and foreign investors could get the best result by investing in Azad and Jammu Kashmir. He said his government was specially focusing on education and presently the literacy rate in AJK is more than 75percent. He said there is no law and order problem in Azad Kashmir and conditions were ideal for investment.

However, Mehtab Uddin Chawla said on the occasion that towel industry was playing a vital role in the economy of the country. He said the government should provide relief to the industrialists. He praised the ideal law and order situation in Azad Kashmir and termed it as the best place for investment.

Pak China Club President Javed Asghar Arain said to boost the industrial sector it needs reduction in taxes and custom duty. He said there are so many taxes and they are just increasing the production cost of our goods making them uncompetitive in the international market.

Pak China Club general secretary Khalid Iqbal Khan said with the exchange of trade delegation new vistas of investment and trade are opened. He suggested exchange of delegation of industrialists and investors to boost trade in Azad Kashmir.

Club chief adviser Huang Junqiang said that China is fully committed to help in economic development of Pakistan. He said many Chinese companies have assured to investment heavily in Pakistan.

Dr Shahida Wizarat said the role of women in trade and industry could not be ignored. She said despite limited resources women have been playing a vital role in trade and economy.

On the occasion, AJK President Sardar Mohammad Yaqoob invited the delegation of the Pak China Club to visit Azad Kashmir which they accepted with thanks and assured to visit Azad Kashmir soon.
