KARACHI: Spokesperson Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB) said chlorine was being mixed as usual in the water, while field officers of KWSB collected samples from different locations and sent them to the advanced laboratory of KWSB for test and it was leveled wherever it was found short.
“KWSB focal person of monitoring committee for naegleria, who is also chief engineer electrical and mechanical KWSB, himself, monitors the chlorination process,” he said.
He said sometimes on information of some shortage of chlorination in tail-end areas it is immediately resolved.
“Non-cleanliness of water storage tanks become reason for growth of naegleria. KWSB is completely cooperating with health department to eradicate naegleria,” he said.
The spokesperson said sodium hypochlorite was being added to level chlorine quantity through different water plants, which was generating positive results.
