Wearing uniform made mandatory for hospitals staff


KARACHI: Health Department Sindh has made wearing uniform mandatory for its all employees at public hospitals across the Sindh province and necessary instructions have also been issued in this regard, it was learned on Wednesday.

An official of provincial health department Sindh on condition of anonymity said Provincial Minister for Health Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has made wearing uniform for all staff of public hospitals throughout the province mandatory.

The public hospitals staff has been directed to wear uniform during duty hours and medical superintendents of government hospitals have been directed to implement this decision.

He said minister has ordered the heads of public hospital to enforce the decision within seven days in their respective institutions, otherwise departmental action would be taken against them. The ward boys and staff nurses have been advised to wear white dress during duty hours. He said step had been taken to stop malpractices being conducted by some elements in the guise of hospital staff.
