Witnesses identify Asif as Waqas Shah’s killer


KARACHI: Two witnesses on Saturday identified Asif Ali as a killer of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) worker Waqas Shah, before judicial Magistrate.

The police produced the suspect before judicial Magistrate amid tight security for identification parade. During the identification parade two witnesses pointed the arrested accused, Asif Ali as a killer of MQM worker, Waqas Shah. The names of the witnesses can not disclose due to security reasons.

According to the police, the suspect revealed that he buried the weapon in a drain near Yaseenabad, and after hiding the weapon, Asif escaped.

Later on, he was arrested by rangers on 25 June from Shahdadpur, Sindh. The rangers handed over him to Azizabad police, and he was in police’s custody on physical remand from 28th June.

MQM worker Waqas Shah was killed on 11 March 2015 outside MQM headquarter, Nine-Zero, when angry party workers were protesting against rangers’ raid at the party’s headquarter.
