Karachi: Pakistan’s star batsman Younis Khan on Tuesday urged his fans and the nation to generously donate blood for thalassaemia patients.
Former skipper Younis Khan visited Omair Sana Foundation (OSF) and made interaction with the young thalassaemia patients and their parents. He also visited the day care centre and distributed gifts among children.
“I am proud of representing Pakistan for last one and half decade. He thanked the nation and particularly his fans for their prayers,” he said on the occasion.
He said OSF has been rendering remarkable services for the eradication of the thalassaemia. He added that joint efforts are needed to eliminate this deadly disease therefore the entire nation should play their due role in this regard.
He further said that the lives of thalassaemia patients are dependent on the blood people donate. He pleaded the masses to donate their blood to continue the lifeline of these affected children.
Dr Saqib Hussain Ansari of the OSF thanked Younis Khan for spending visiting and spending time with thalassaemia patients and their families.
Earlier, Younis Khan also received a trophy on the occasion for scoring most runs in the test cricket arena for Pakistan.
